My Pet Bees began with family, curiosity, and a belief that more people could experience the joy of keeping bees with the right help.
A house filled
with hives.
Our beekeeping story has ties to Germany, where we learned from a remarkable multistory house filled with colonies. Seeing so many hives cared for side by side taught us to slow down, observe closely, and respect the rhythm of every colony.
Those lessons shaped the patient, personal approach we brought home to My Pet Bees.
She wanted to learn.
We showed her how.
Our first customer was fascinated by bees and wanted a hive of her own. We introduced her to backyard beekeeping, placed a hive on her property, and taught her what was happening inside the colony.
She learned how to recognize healthy hive activity and feel confident around her bees. Her experience became the model for our service: the customer owns the hive, and our family provides the knowledge and ongoing care.
Small pollinators.
A huge responsibility.
Bees help flowering plants reproduce and support many of the fruits, nuts, and vegetables people eat. They also support wild plants and the ecosystems built around them.
Many pollinators face habitat loss, poor nutrition, disease, parasites, and pesticide exposure. People can help by planting regionally appropriate flowers, leaving nesting space for native bees, and reducing pesticide use.
